We offer the use of The Hambrough’s modest sized car park situated to the rear of the property. As you approach The Hambrough in Hambrough Road there is a lane to the left of the property,  continue up the slope taking the right fork and then continuing directly ahead up a narrow road (with the Post Office sorting office car park to your right) where you will find the car park area.  All vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk and the hotel accepts no liability for any damage, loss or theft when parked in the car park.

  1. Dining at the hotel

Breakfast at The Hambrough is served daily from 8.30am until 10.00am – it is not necessary for hotel residents to book but ask non-residents to book in advance. Breakfast Room Service may be ordered in advance with notice given the previous evening at a charge of £7.50 – please discuss this with our Reception Team on arrival.

We recommend that you make reservations for all bookings for lunch or dinner for The Hambrough Restaurant in advance of your stay with us to avoid any disappointment. We try to reserve tables for our resident guests but as you will appreciate during the busy season and weekends tables are in high demand so we may not be able to accommodate if you haven’t reserved a table.

We have a casual dress code in the Lounge Bar and Restaurant but feel free to dress up if you wish!

Children under the age of 8 years are not encouraged in the restaurant after 6:30 pm. Should you wish to dine with younger children after 6:30 pm you may be able to do so in the Lounge Bar subject to there being a table available.  Whilst we do not offer a Children’s Menu as a matter of course, simpler dishes can be prepared which must be ordered in advance – please ask for the list of dishes available.  Where possible, the Chef can also adapt main menu items to a simpler dish.

The Hambrough operates a no smoking policy throughout the building.
Guests are not permitted to smoke or ‘vape’ in any of the buildings’ internal areas which includes the bedroom balconies. If found to be smoking in these areas, a £150 fine will be liable. Guests may be permitted to smoke or ‘vape’ in the Garden so long as it does not constitute a nuisance to other guests.

  1. Accessibility

Due to the physical limitations of the existing building unfortunately access to The Hambrough is not possible without using stairs. All the public rooms are only accessible via steps, with 8 steps to the front door from the pavement which are too steep to use a ramp.  The lounge bar, restaurant and reception areas are all on one level and there are two steps to access the ladies toilets and a further two steps to access the gents toilets.  Again due to the physical limitations of the building it is not possible to install a lift and all the bedrooms are situated either on the first or second floors and are only accessible via stairs (22 stairs to the first floor and a further 22 stairs to the second floor).  There are four bedrooms which have walk-in showers and the other three bedrooms have baths with showers over.

The walk from The Hambrough car park is a very short walk however this is quite steep and we therefore recommend guests who may have mobility issues be dropped off outside The Hambrough before parking the car.

We would also mention that Ventnor itself is extremely hilly so we recommend that research is carried out on the area should mobility be an issue.
